Bread fruit is a tropical vegetable belongs to the mulberry family. It is a medium to large sized fruit with an average weight 3 to 5 kilo grams which grows in tropical areas including Sri Lanka. The fruit can be cooked and eaten at all stages of maturity. It is high in carbohydrates, and is a good source of minerals and vitamins.
