Kiri Ala is known in different names in different parts of the world, which are American Taro, Arrowleaf Elephant’s Ear, Barbados Nut Eddoe, Cocoyam, Elephant Ears, Green Arrow Elephant Ears, Malanga, New Cocoyam, Tannia, Uyautia, Yannia Leaf Spinach, Yautia, Yautia Tannia, Yellow Ocumo, Yellow Yautia. Kiri Ala is a starchy root vegetable and has a rough, hairy outer skin, with a crisp, white or pink flesh. Its flavor of potato or yam and prepare using a variety of cooking methods, such as baked, mashed, boiled, or fried.
